Any Kurosawa fans here?
Seven Samurai - not only one of the greatest /Samurai/ films ever made, but one of the greatest /films/ ever made.
A lot of Way of the Samurai is inspired by Yojimbo; the plot of "a town torn between two rival factions", and a lone Man who drifts into town and saves it by playing the factions against each other.
The inspiration is especially true of Way of the Samurai 1, as not only is the story and plot inspired by it, but the setting too.
Way of the Samurai 3 is mostly inspired by Yojimbo in terms of plot and story, but takes some inspiration from Seven Samurai for the setting.
